The FDA granted tentative approval to Dr. Reddy's generic version of lenacapavir, the HIV-prevention injection given every six months. Because the brand is still under patent, it isn't for sale in the U.S. It's aimed at 120 lower-income countries at about $40 per person a year. U.S. patients still get the brand-name version through their doctor or insurer.
